MOMS Club Member Testimony - Heather Lutz

Hi guys! My name is Heather and I am the current Co-Treasurer of MOMS Club of McKinney-Central. I have two daughters, one is 11 and one is 2.

I was born and raised in Texas but it is a very big state! When I moved to McKinney three years ago, it was hard to drive over an hour both ways to meet up with friends or family. Once my youngest was born two years ago, that became even more problematic so I joined MOMS Club to make friends who I could have play dates with or ask for advice.

I have met some amazing friends through this organization that have been a wonderful support system especially during these times. These ladies have loved on my babies like their own, been there to help me with errands or breakdowns, and shared so many laughs with me through these past two years. I’m so glad I took a chance on a random Meetup group!

MOMS Club Member Testimony - Kate Brier

Hi everyone! My name is Kate Brier, and I am the current President of MOMS Club of McKinney-Central. Over the next few weeks, we'll be posting testimonials from our members so you can learn a little more about our moms and how joining our chapter has benefitted them.

When I moved to McKinney from Philadelphia three years ago, I felt so alone. I had a VERY rambunctious toddler, was pregnant with my second, and my husband worked 40 minutes away. The days seemed to last forever, and I was desperate to make some mom friends. Luckily, a very sweet neighbor told me about MOMS Club of McKinney-Central!

I was so nervous to reach out about joining. I was afraid I would be judged, afraid the group would feel cliquish, and afraid I would have nothing in common with these moms. But I knew that I owed it to myself to try, and I am so glad I did. As it turned out, there was no reason to fear ANY of those things.

MOMS Club has changed my life, and I am not saying that lightly. I went from feeling alone to feeling like part of a sisterhood. I know that my children and I have made lifelong friends and also know that if anything bad happened, I have a group of amazing women who would be there in a heartbeat.

MOMS Club has also given me a sense of purpose beyond motherhood. As a nonprofit organization, we support our community through fundraisers and other service projects. These opportunities allow me to give back to a city I love and show my children the importance of serving others.

If you're a McKinney mom, know a McKinney mom, or are planning on moving here - please reach out. Our membership coordinator, Juliana, is one of the sweetest people I've ever met and will answer any questions you have and make you feel welcome. You can reach her at mckinneymoms@yahoo.com

MOMS Club® 2019-2020 Community Service Projects

October 2019

Every Halloween MOMS Club® of McKinney-Central hosts a "Trunk or Treat" for the kids of City House, Shiloh's Place and The Samaritan Inn. This event is fun for the whole family with costumes, games, decorated cars, dinner, and even contest for Best Costumes and Best Decorated Trunk.

December 2019

For our December Community Service Project our members came together to gift 6 moms from Shiloh's Place pajamas, robes, socks, and slippers. Our group was blessed and humbled to be able to give these single mothers comforts like matching pajamas and slippers, that we so often take for granted.

June/July 2020

With the COVID-19 Pandemic the Little Free Pantry in McKinney saw an increase in community members needing their support, and a decrease in donations. Our members generously donated food to help restock the Little Free Pantry's main location.
