Halloween Crafting

We got together at the park last week for a couple of quick Halloween crafts. One of our talented moms helped the kids make handprint spiders, then turned their art into cute pillow covers.

Information for Melissa, TX moms

Our chapter has received quite a few messages over the past few months from moms in neighboring Melissa, TX, inquiring about joining MOMS Club. The boundary restrictions set by the International MOMS Club don't allow our McKinney-Central chapter to accept members outside of McKinney, and while there isn't currently a chapter in Melissa, there definitely seems to be a need to for one. The good news is, we would love to help!

Our club is based on the idea of moms providing support from fellow moms, so we feel terrible when we have to turn someone away. The reason for the geographic boundaries is that the MOMS club wants to help women connect with others within their own community, so that we can each build a network of support close to home.

We've been keeping a list of names and contact info for the Melissa moms who contact us, and we'd like to continue to add to it. If you'd like to add your name to the list of Melissa moms who are interested in joining a local MOMS club once it forms, please email us at

What we really need to get your club off the ground, however, is a Melissa mom or group of two or three moms who are interested in leading the club during its first year. Our McKinney-Central club is headed by an executive board consisting of a president, membership vice president, administrative vice president, secretary, and treasurer. We would like to help set you up with the same structure, but you can start with a smaller board and add to it as you go, if needed.

If you're interested in the possibility of starting a club in Melissa, or helping to start a club in Melissa, please email us and we'll discuss what steps we'd want to take. You can attend some of our McKinney events to see how our club works, and meet with our board members. Before we were board members, most of us were fairly new to Texas. We weren't exactly sure what we were getting into, but we dove right in and have enjoyed the process. Even if you're a new mom, or a new resident of Melissa, you would be doing a big service to your town to help get a club off the ground!

Send your thoughts and questions to us at or leave your comments here.

Kind regards,
Melissa (2016-2017 McKinney-Central President)

Summer Fun

Summer is here, and July is the beginning of a new year for our MOMS club. Last month, we celebrated the end of the 2015-2016 club year with a moms’ night out banquet. We send a huge thank you to our outgoing president, Sara. She did an amazing job serving our club for the past two years.

Banquet decor by our talented Treasurer Danielle and photo by our always-snapping Administrative Vice President Liz.

In addition to the banquet, we filled June with a host of fun events. If you’re looking for some summer ideas for you and your kids, here are a few favorites from last month:
  • Kids bowl for free in Allen this summer. Three cheers for air conditioned recreation! Get the details here.
  • Our moms got crafty and created these photo bookmarks of our cute kids.
  • We burned calories and enjoyed the morning sunshine strolling at Bonnie Wenk Park.

If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to have you join us in July!

September Newsletter!

Moms Connection

President’s Corner
By: Sara
School is back in full swing and hopefully soon we will see some cooler temps! I am looking forward to FALL and the many opportunities we will have to get outdoors! If you haven’t already heard I want to let you all know I have gone back to work part-time (Mon, Tues, & Thurs). I am trying hard to balance it all, and I am still working on this multi-tasking thing! A big THANKS to all the MOMS adding to the calendar their play-dates and fun activities…there is so much to do in September! Don’t forget to collect and donate diapers for this month’s service project; this is a great cause and a good way to clean out your diaper bags!

"Silence is Golden…..
Unless you have kids, then silence is just suspicious."

Serving Our Community
Our service project for the month of September is Diaper donations for Baby Booties Diaper Bank. This is a non-profit organization that provides diapers for under resourced families in Collin County. All unused diaper are accepted – opened & un-opened packages; so get in those closets and purge all those random diapers you have stashed! We will collect these at our Club Meeting, Friday, 9/19. Please RSVP via Meet-Up!

Did You Know?
ANYONE can plan an activity for the group! I know, shocking, right?! As the temps get cooler, we start to see more opportunities to get out of the house and play. If you discover an event, fun venue, or just want to get out, email any board member below…or just put it on our Facebook page.

*A note to non-members viewing this page: Please head over to our page to contact us and possibly join! We would love to meet you.*
